System Design Services
The term ‘system’ has a dual meaning. First, as a set of principles or procedures according to which something is done, an organised scheme or method. Second, as a set of things working together as parts of a mechanism or an interconnected network. We are systematic in designing systems that create value for our clients by using our knowledge, our experience and the appropriate, in a case-by-case basis, methodologies. Our systems design activities are specialised in these two fields:
Performance Management Systems
Building on our knowledge of Strategic Management Modeling, we design Performance Management Systems using the evolving Balanced Scorecard (BSC) framework to help organisations keep track of the execution of activities by the staff within their control and to monitor the consequences arising from these actions. We work together with organisations to translate their vision statements into operational objectives and to connect them with the performance of their human resources and their operational plans. We propose the appropriate key performance indicators for organisations to monitor their progress and we propose feedback loops for continuous improvement. We have designed such systems for private and public organisations, and for ESIF-funded operational programmes.
Moreover, we recently collaborated with the European Commission's Joint Research Centre and contributed to the development of a massive online course on 'Monitoring Smart Specialisation Strategies', which is available here.
Information and Communication System Design
We apply a systematic procedure in capturing system requirements and transforming them into tender documents. We also take into account all the necessary activities needed fully integrate ICT systems in the operating context of the recipient organisation. We build on the best practices described in the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework and we use the IEEE Software Engineering Standards to determine what and how must be done within each phase of system development, and how verification and validation will be performed.
We have designed several large scale ICT sytems for public administration and healthcare, including the Citizens’ Service Centres Backoffice System (kep.gov.gr), the Integrated System for Civil Protection (civilprotection.gr) and others.
